Spanish Scotch Pine is liked by many for the color of its bark. Many know this pine as a ‘pioneer’ species. This is because of its ability to thrive in poor soil that would otherwise hurt many species of pine.
Uses
This pine is commonly used for Christmas trees, some production for softwoods, and erosion control.

This pine is well liked by birds and deer for the cover and protection it provides.
History & Lore
The Spanish Scotch Pine is Scotland's national tree. This tree is the only timber producing pine in that is native to Scotland.
