In fact, we don’t even grow trees that are considered just plain ol’ “good.” Instead, we make it our priority to grow genetically superior, high-quality trees and seedlings. Rest assured, these trees aren’t just planted. They take time, close care, consideration, the latest technology, and exceptional growing methodologies to cultivate.
What makes Vans Pines Trees Genetically Superior?
Genetically superior trees don’t just happen. Our growing methodology is specifically designed to grow faster, better roots for trees. Before the tree is even planted, each seed goes through germ and cut testing to ensure the best seeds are used during planting.
Once the best seeds are selected, we propagate them by using only Accelerated Growth (A/G)® Jiffy Plugs in our climate-controlled greenhouses. When doing this, you receive better root mass, crop uniformity, a continued quicker growth habit, more buds, and terminal buds that are up to 3 times larger for a greater elongation at bud break.
Over the course of the tree’s growing cycle, we look at each one at a time individually with close consideration to bring growers the highest quality product available. With this, multiple rounds of culls happen throughout the season to remove genetically weak and undesirable trees from the bunch.
Combined with the latest growing technology and forecasting, we are able to cultivate younger, longer-lasting trees that embody better root development and are less prone to diseases and pests. Ultimately, this guarantees you a high-quality product for your business.
