Similar to the Balsam Fir ‘Nova Scotia’, the Balsam Fir ‘Sheet Harbor’ also produces an oily resin and has dark green needles with 2 white stripes across it.
Uses
This tree is commonly favored as a Christmas tree. Its wood is also used for lumber and pulp.

The Balsam Fir ‘Sheet Harbor’ produces seeds and buds that offer a food source to many birds, squirrels, mice, and more. Deer and moose also use this tree as a source of food, cover, and shelter.

The oily resin produced by this tree was used to place specimen under slides long ago.
