History & Lore
In the early 1700s, ‘Maryland Spruce’ was another name for Black Spruce trees. To one's surprise however, this tree does not grow in Maryland. The Native American Lakota tribe commonly used Black Spruce oil within their traditional and spiritual rituals. The oil was popular to use during meditation as well.
